We sat down and spoke to Laura about her role…

Brief Background to Laura’s MNP journey:

I joined MNP back in August 2008 as part of a Business Administration Apprenticeship. Sarah, who was Technical Support Manager at the time, interviewed me and offered me the job.

I’m pretty sure the business expected me to leave after I had completed my course, however, having successfully completed it, I went on to complete various other courses and here I am, over 10 years later! I’m not sure where the time has gone but it has been a pleasure working with the team, our clients and our partners for the duration.

Initially I worked alongside the technical support department helping with the administration and receiving telephone calls from our customer base. I then migrated to a marketing role, assisting with marketing activities within the UK & US with cold calling, organising and attending trade shows among my many duties. I stayed in this role for some time, however, never lost contact with our client base. Throughout the years I continued to build relationships with our clients and it was at that point that I naturally evolved to the role of Client Services Manager. I have been in this role for 5 years now and thoroughly enjoy it.

What does a typical day look like for you and what are you currently working on?

If I am not out and about visiting clients or in an internal meeting, I’ll be in the office dealing with email enquiries or on the telephone.

One thing that is for certain, is that a day will not go by without speaking to a client about how the MNP system can help unlock opportunity to sell more or improve more operational efficiencies. This is one of the reasons I have stayed with MNP for so long, there is certainly no chance of getting bored and clock watching on a day to day basis! With flexible software solutions, there is always something we can do to help more, which makes the working days fly by!

What three words would you use to describe your role?

Challenging but enjoyable… and satisfying.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

Helping clients achieve their ambitions and seeing them grow as we grow too.

If you had to eat one meal, every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Curry… so many varieties and so very yummy!

What is your guilty pleasure?

Steam engines… a hobby that keeps me busy during the rally season, a season that runs from May until September every year.

What advice would you give to new starters beginning at MNP?

Belt yourself in and enjoy the ride!!
